We repeated the walk around Lawkland Hall estate made in November 2005 as described in the 2006 Journal. Although the weather proved pleasant enough for the time of year the ground was somewhat wet and wellingtons were the order of the day. The name Lawkland may well have been Lakeland in the past so the watery nature of the ground should not be so surprising. This year we had mince pies and a cup of tea to look forward to in the late afternoon. We gathered in the comfortable dining room in front of a log fire and enjoyed some discussion of the architecture before making our ways home.
