Many of the articles in this issue concern Settle and its history over a long period. They include the story of the discovery of Victoria Cave, renovation of the Folly, the Lettsom map of Settle of about 1765, and then from Victorian times an article on dancing bears, a photograph of old Settle, and the history of the Horner photographers. There are memories of the old businesses in Settle and a discovery of a surprising connection of Settle with the royal family. In addition there are further well researched contributions on an old boundary stone, buildings and local history.
