Due to torrential rain the previous day the walk was cancelled on the Sunday even though the weather had turned very sunny. The stile where where we needed to cross and the footpath was totally submerged. Some who had arrived for the walk had driven through considerable depths of water - not being familiar with the frequent flooding in Rathmell Bottoms.
Maybe future walks in the Rathmell area should be avoided !
